Is there parking at the Conference Venue?
If you are driving to the Conference the GCCEC’s car park entrance is at the northern end of the building, accessible from traffic lights of the Gold Coast Highway and the main driveway off TE Peters Drive.
The venue operates an automated car parking system. The cost is $12.00 per vehicle per entry payable upon exiting the Centre. There are four (4) pay stations positioned throughout various locations in the Centre. These machines accept both cash and credit cards. A 30 minute grace period applies to all vehicles, whereby payment is not required. Should this period be exceeded, a $12.00 fee will apply.

How do I get from the airport to the Conference Venue?
The Gold Coast Airport is just 20 minutes south of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Taxi, shuttle buses, trains and trams offer the most convenient transfers between the airport and the Gold Coast. View options available on the Gold Coast airport transport page.

What is the weather like on the Gold Coast?
In Spring, sunny days are followed by mild tropical evenings and average temperatures range from 16.9 – 25.4°C (62.4 – 77.7°F). Days are dry but can be windy during this time. View some info on Gold Coast weather here.
Entry to conference sessions
It is suggested that delegates arrive at preferred sessions promptly to ensure a seat.
Conference name badges
All delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors will be provided with a name badge, which must be worn at all times within the conference venue, as it is required for access to all the conference sessions and social functions.
Please collect your name badge at the conference registration desk.
Details for your name badge will be collected during the registration process. If you notice an error within your registration, please advise Leishman Associates so that the same may be updated.

There are various conference dinner options available for you to chose from . This is at an additional cost and NOT included in any registration. Each dinner is hosted by a Keynote Speaker, numbers will be capped. The dress code to each is smart casual.

How do I know if I am registered for a social function?
A ticket to the Welcome Reception is included in each full registration.
The Conference Dinner is an additional cost and if selected, is dependent upon which dinner option you select. Upon registration for the ASID 2018 Conference you will receive a registration confirmation which will list all social functions you are registered for. If you require another copy please email email@example.com.
Additional tickets for both events are available for purchase. This can be done at the time of registering for the conference. If you require a guest ticket to either of these events after you have purchased your registration please email firstname.lastname@example.org
What is the dress code for the conference and social functions?
Dress code throughout the day for the conference is smart casual or informal business.
For social functions:
Can I bring a partner along to the social functions?
Yes you may at an additional cost. This can be purchased through the registration process, or added at a later time by either emailing Brittany Lee or at the Registration Desk at the conference.
Special dietary requirements
The venue will be advised of any special diet preferences you have indicated on your registration form.
A special buffet table will be available for any dietary requirements.

What food is included in my registration?
Full Registration: All morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided each day. All food at each social function is included, if you are attending.
Day Registration: Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided only for the day you have registered.
Is there a delegate list?
The delegate list will be made available to all registered delegates via email a week or two out from ASID 2018. Those who have nominated Privacy will not appear on the list.

If you have any queries when you are at the conference, first speak to the staff at your hotel or alternatively Leishman Events staff at the registration desk.
Your credit card details were supplied to the hotel you have selected, as security for your booking. If you have arrived 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day you may find that you have been charged a fee. You will be responsible for all room and incidental charges upon check out and may be asked for an impression of your credit card for security against these charges. This is standard policy in many hotels.
How do I pay for my accommodation?
When you book your accommodation your credit card details will be transferred to the hotel you have selected – please confirm this on check in with your hotel. Your credit card will not be charged until you check out. If you have arrived 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day you may find that you have been charged for the night’s accommodation. If you would like to pre-pay your accommodation, please email Brittany Lee and a Tax Invoice can be organised from the hotel to enable this to occur.
I am a speaker, is there anything I need to know?
Please bring your presentation on USB and provide it to the Technician in the Speakers’ Preparation Room, Room 3 (see floor plan on page 7 of the Handbook) at least 2 hours before your scheduled presentation time. There will be facility to test and modify your presentation if required.
The Technician will be present in the Speakers’ Preparation Room during the following times:
Wednesday 8.00am – 1.45pm
Thursday 8.00am – 1.30pm
Friday 8.00am – 2.00pm
Speakers are requested to assemble in their session room 5 minutes before the commencement of their session, to meet with their session chair and to familiarise themselves with the room and the audio visual equipment.
Is there security at the conference?
The members of the conference organising committee and Leishman Associates accept no liability for personal accident or loss or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, invited observer or any other person by whatever means. Neither do we accept liability for any equipment nor software bought to the conference by delegates, speakers, sponsors or any other party. Please protect your personal property. Do not leave laptops, cameras, and other valuable items unsecured. Be conscious of individuals who appear out of place and do not wear a conference name badge. Advise Leishman Associates Staff if this does occur.
Photographs, videos and recording of sessions
Delegates are not permitted to use any type of camera or recording device at any of the sessions unless written permission has been obtained from the relevant speaker.
Our Conference Photography sponsor Take Better Photos will be taking some happy snaps of delegates throughout the conference. If you do not wish to have your photo taken and or published in future marketing material please advise the registration desk staff and the photographer.
These photos will be available from the conference website shortly after the event or from Leishman Associates (the Conference Managers).
Will there be Wifi available at the Conference?
Delegates will have access to complimentary WiFi for the duration of the conference. Please note that movies, music or illicit downloads are restricted. It is not designed for accessing VPNs or downloading large files.

The ASID 2018 Conference reserves the right to amend or alter any advertised details relating to dates, program and speakers if necessary, without notice, as a result of circumstances beyond their control. All attempts have been made to keep any changes to an absolute minimum.
