Is there parking at the Conference Venue?
If you are driving to the Conference the GCCEC’s car park entrance is at the northern end of the building, accessible from traffic lights of the Gold Coast Highway and the main driveway off TE Peters Drive.
Undercover car spaces are available for short-term parking. A $12 inclusive of GST flat rate is charged for car parking at the centre, and it is open 24/7.

How do I get from the airport to the Conference Venue?
The Gold Coast Airport is just 20 minutes south of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Taxi, shuttle buses, trains and trams offer the most convenient transfers between the airport and the Gold Coast. View options available on the Gold Coast airport transport page.

What is the weather like on the Gold Coast?
In Spring, sunny days are followed by mild tropical evenings and average temperatures range from 16.9 – 25.4°C (62.4 – 77.7°F). Days are dry but can be windy during this time. View some info on Gold Coast weather here.
Entry to conference sessions
It is suggested that delegates arrive at preferred sessions promptly to ensure a seat.
Conference name badges
All delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors will be provided with a name badge, which must be worn at all times within the conference venue, as it is required for access to all the conference sessions and social functions.
Please collect your name badge at the conference registration desk.
Details for your name badge will be collected during the registration process. If you notice an error within your registration, please advise Leishman Associates so that the same may be updated.

There will be be various conference dinner options available for you to chose from . This will be at an additional cost and NOT included in any registration. Each dinner will be hosted by a Keynote Speaker, numbers will be capped.

How do I know if I am registered for a social function?
A ticket to the Welcome Reception is included in each full registration.
The Conference Dinner is an additional cost and if selected, is dependent upon which dinner option you select. Upon registration for the ASID 2018 Conference you will receive a registration confirmation which will list all social functions you are registered for. If you require another copy please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additional tickets for both events are available for purchase. This can be done at the time of registering for the conference. If you require a guest ticket to either of these events after you have purchased your registration please email email@example.com
What is the dress code for the conference and social functions?
Dress code throughout the day for the conference is smart casual or informal business.
For social functions:
Can I bring a partner along to the social functions?
Yes you may at an additional cost. This can be purchased through the registration process, or added at a later time by either emailing Bree Blackwell or at the Registration Desk at the conference.
Special dietary requirements
The venue will be advised of any special diet preferences you have indicated on your registration form.
A special buffet table will be available for any dietary requirements.

What food is included in my registration?
Full Registration: All morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided each day. All food at each social function is included, if you are attending.
Day Registration: Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided only for the day you have registered.
Is there a delegate list?
The delegate list will be made available to all registered delegates via email a week or two out from ASID 2018. Those who have nominated Privacy will not appear on the list.
If you have any queries relating to your accommodation booking, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the conference.
If you have any queries when you are at the conference, first speak to the staff at your hotel or alternatively Leishman Events staff at the registration desk.
Your credit card details were supplied to the hotel you have selected, as security for your booking. If you have arrived 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day you may find that you have been charged a fee. You will be responsible for all room and incidental charges upon check out and may be asked for an impression of your credit card for security against these charges. This is standard policy in many hotels.
How do I pay for my accommodation?
When you book your accommodation your credit card details will be transferred to the hotel you have selected – please confirm this on check in with your hotel. Your credit card will not be charged until you check out. If you have arrived 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day you may find that you have been charged for the night’s accommodation. If you would like to pre-pay your accommodation, please email Bree Blackwell and a Tax Invoice can be organised from the hotel to enable this to occur.
I am a speaker, is there anything I need to know?
All speakers should present themselves to the Speakers’ Preparation Room at least 4 hours before their scheduled presentation time, to upload their presentation.
Speakers are requested to assemble in their session room 5 minutes before the commencement of their session, to meet with their session chair and to familiarise themselves with the room and the audio visual equipment.

A technician will be present in the speakers’ preparation room during registration hours. There will be facility to test and modify your presentation as required.
Is there security at the conference?
The members of the conference organising committee and Leishman Associates accept no liability for personal accident or loss or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, invited observer or any other person by whatever means. Neither do we accept liability for any equipment nor software bought to the conference by delegates, speakers, sponsors or any other party. Please protect your personal property. Do not leave laptops, cameras, and other valuable items unsecured. Be conscious of individuals who appear out of place and do not wear a conference name badge. Advise Leishman Associates Staff if this does occur.
Photographs, videos and recording of sessions
Delegates are not permitted to use any type of camera or recording device at any of the sessions unless written permission has been obtained from the relevant speaker.
Photos throughout the conference. These photos will be available from the conference website shortly after the event or from Leishman Associates, the Conference Managers.
If you do not wish to have your photo taken and or published in future marketing material and/or please advise the registration desk staff and the photographer if you are approached for a photo.
Will there be Wifi available at the Conference?
Delegates will have access to complimentary WiFi for the duration of the conference. Please note that movies, music or illicit downloads are restricted. It is not designed for accessing VPNs or downloading large files.
There will be an ASID2018 connection, the password will be made available to you at the Conference.

As a courtesy to other delegates, please ensure that all mobile phones are turned off or in silent mode during all sessions and social functions.

The ASID 2018 Conference reserves the right to amend or alter any advertised details relating to dates, program and speakers if necessary, without notice, as a result of circumstances beyond their control. All attempts have been made to keep any changes to an absolute minimum.
