Professor Monica Cuskelly
Professor Monica Cuskelly, is Associate Head Research at the University of Tasmania. Monica works in the areas of intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a focus on self-regulation and mastery motivation. She has published 100 peer refereed articles, 26 chapters and 3 edited books. She is involved in a program of research in Down syndrome which includes a longitudinal study of the cognitive development of individuals with Down syndrome now in its 40th year as well as a second longitudinal study of the development of self-determination in individuals with Down syndrome now in its 20th year. Her current research is focussed on the lives of adults with intellectual disability, including mental health difficulties in adults with Down syndrome.
